What is a Clean Truck Check?
California requires many non-gasoline vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR, including commercial diesel trucks and diesel motorhomes, to pass a periodic emissions test called a Clean Truck Check. If you received a DMV notice saying "incomplete renewal" or your vehicle shows as non-compliant, this is the test you need.
A CARB-credentialed tester connects to your vehicle's OBD port, reads the emissions data, and submits the results directly to the state. If you pass, your registration can proceed. If you do not comply, you could face registration holds and late fees.
Not sure if your vehicle needs one? Call or text us — we will help you figure it out.

- Pre-check first, every time — we verify readiness before submitting
- Only $70 if you are not ready — no wasted $110 test fee
- No 30-day retest penalty — we catch problems before they are on record
- Come back after repairs — $70 follow-up pre-check + test visit
You only pay full price when you are ready to pass.
How it works
- Use the Book link and provide your vehicle and service address.
- I arrive on-site, warm up the vehicle, and run a readiness pre-check.
- If ready, I submit the official test to the CTC-VIS site.
- You receive proof of submission and a receipt.
A lit check-engine light, active emissions DM faults, or incomplete readiness monitors can prevent a passing result.
Diesel RV Owners
Mobile CARB testing built for RV owners who hate driving to truck shops
Most providers focus on commercial fleets. We started this business because we are RV owners and know how difficult it is to move a large motorhome to a truck shop.
We come to your RV park, storage lot, or driveway. No moving your rig. No disrupting your setup.
Diesel motorhomes from 2013 onward and 14,000+ GVWR generally require an annual Clean Truck Check.
FAQ
Do you do repairs?
No. OBD testing only. Emissions-related faults must be repaired before retesting. The pre-check helps prevent submitting a test that is not ready to pass.
Where do you operate?
Starting September 20, 2026, we serve San Diego County. Mileage is calculated from ZIP 92109. Locations within 30 miles are included; travel beyond 30 miles is $1 per additional mile.
What do I need on-site?
Keys must be available, with safe parking and access to the OBD port. Have any DMV or CTC-VIS notice available.
Do you test 2012 or older vehicles?
We test diesel and diesel-hybrid vehicles from 2013 onward and alternative-fuel engine vehicles from 2018 onward, when they are 14,000+ GVWR and use the OBD process.
How early can I submit a test result?
Up to 90 days before the due date.
How often is testing required?
Most in-scope vehicles require testing twice each year. Agriculture vehicles and diesel RV motorhomes generally require annual testing.
What device do you use?
We use the HEM Data DAWN OBD Inspector.
Where can I learn more?
See the California Air Resources Board Clean Truck Check program.
